Hello! I am Elaine Tetens and I have been at Saint Francis Xavier School since 2001. I have taught first grade, except for three years when I taught second grade. I thought I wanted to be a pediatric nurse when I grew up, but after taking some courses in it, decided it wasn't for me. I decided to become a teacher after much soul searching and realizing I always wanted to go into a profession that involved children. I can honestly say I have found my calling. I LOVE WHAT I DO! The most important thing to me is a child's self-esteem and that they like school. I love coming to school each and every day. I look forward to the beginning of the school year much like I did when I was a kid. I also do not like the end of the school year because developing such a bond with my students is important to me. Even though they are ready for the next grade, I am sad to see them go. I love working for Saint Francis Xavier School and working with all of you!
